The Blacksmith Museum is located within the multi-purpose facility "Machiyama," which also houses a library and other amenities.
The exhibits are divided into four main themes:
Basic Knowledge of Blacksmithing: This exhibit explains the carbon (C) content in iron (Fe), providing fundamental insights into blacksmithing.
Manufacturing Process of Blacksmith Products: This section details the steps involved in creating blacksmith products.
Three Essential Elements of Blacksmithing: This exhibit covers the three critical elements that sustain blacksmithing—fire (temperature), forests (materials/resources), and rivers (distribution).
Depth of Blacksmithing Techniques: By showcasing various blacksmith products, this exhibit aims to highlight the complexity and depth of blacksmithing techniques that enable the production of diverse items.
The design of the exhibition space, with exposed ceilings and concrete flooring, reflects the "rawness of the factory," as envisioned by architect Kengo Kuma.
